Be prepared before you leave for your stay abroad with our online language school: MLA Language Live and our live online teachers. Enhance your conversation and your fluency, expand your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation or prepare for an internationally certified English exam.

What is it?

A general English course is included in the study holiday package at no additional cost. The main objective of the course is to give students the tools to become independent and confident in communicating in English, ready for their MLA programme.

The courses, available for all levels from Elementary to Advanced, are a fun way to learn English with MLA. Lessons will be held online in virtual classrooms, with a maximum of 8-12 students, by qualified teachers with extensive experience and qualifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

You can swap this General English course for a Cambridge Exam Preparation course too. We’ll help you prepare for this internationally acclaimed exam and now you can then sit your Cambridge Exams at our UK and Ireland MLA Summer Centres or at home after your MLA programme. Management fee, administrative and examination fee to be paid separately.

Interactive – Our Online Live General English or Cambridge Exam Preparation courses are structured around various activities and tasks, offering a comprehensive approach to learning English. The lessons, stimulating and dynamic, capture the students’ attention and generate team spirit and positive relationships with new friends.

Coursebooks and support at your fingertips – The Pre-departure Course is supported by advanced teaching materials and cutting-edge digital tools. Students will have access to interactive platforms to manage their calendar of lessons, access the content and receive real-time technical assistance.

Where and when?

The course could be up to 15 sessions of 60 minute-weekly lessons (based on when you enrol) with live online teachers. Flexibility is at the heart of our approach, allowing you to choose the day and time of your lessons. This means you can plan your learning sessions to best adapt them to your daily routine, Monday to Friday, with slots available from 3.30pm to 8pm (Central European Time). The courses start in November and end in June, just before you leave for your study holiday.

Certification

Our Pre-Departure students are followed diligently by our teachers who assess their level of English throughout the course. This progress is then acknowledged at the end of the course in the form of a personalised certificate according to the level achieved and the Common European Framework (CEFR) ranging from Elementary (A2) to Advanced (C1) demonstrating their current level. This level is then used to assign them to a class in their MLA Centre.

Upon completion of the course, students receive their certificate of attendance “Online Live Cambridge Exams Preparation” or “Online Live General English” to certify the language level achieved at the end of the online course.
