What Makes the
MLA Experience Special

Every MLA Team Member works to create enjoyable and memorable days for our students. Our programmes are designed to give the best possible experience in each destination, combining cultural activities with excursions that show the real character of the place.

Travelling with MLA means discovering the culture, history, and traditions that make each country unique. Our themed MLA Experiences help students learn through music, food, stories, films, and fun activities. Each centre offers its own special theme, inspired by famous ideas such as:

  • The Royal Family
  • Peter Pan
  • Harry Potter
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Romeo and Juliet
  • The Golden Era of Jazz
  • Celtic Traditions
  • American Cowboys
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Hawaiian Luau

These experiences are created only for MLA groups and give students special moments they will remember long after their trip.

MiniBreak

In some centres, students can enjoy an MLA MiniBreak. This is an overnight trip to a major city, including extra attractions and accommodation in university residences or hotels.

MLA Kit

Every student receives the wellknown MLA yellow backpack and a key/ID lanyard to use during their stay.

Hard Rock Cafe

Many MLA programmes include a meal at the famous Hard Rock Cafe, known for its classic American food and lively atmosphere since 1971.

Musical

Some programmes offer the chance to see a worldclass musical in London’s West End or on Broadway in New York. This is often one of the most exciting parts of the study holiday.

Excursions with English Speaking Staff More to Explore, More to Enjoy

MLA programmes include many excursions, activities, and opportunities to discover new places.

  • Fullday and halfday excursions include attractions and transport.
  • Students are always accompanied by trained Englishspeaking staff for safety and reallife language practice.
  •
  • In the UK and Ireland, centres usually follow a zigzag schedule: lessons in the morning and activities in the afternoon, or the other way around.
  •
  • In the USA and Canada, excursions are often longer, so lessons may run fullday to allow more time for fullday trips.

Optional excursions

Students can personalise their stay by choosing optional excursions at an extra cost. These depend on the centre, the week, and booking numbers. Popular options include:

  • Disneyland
  • Universal Studios
  • Harry Potter World

Full details are available in each centre’s programme guide.
