MLA’s Summer Season Gets Underway Across International Study Abroad Programmes

As summer programmes begin across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the United States and Canada, MLA officially enters the operational phase of Summer 2026.

Behind every successful study abroad experience lies an enormous amount of preparation, coordination and training involving hundreds of professionals across the organisation.

This year, more than 1,500 staff members will work across 18 MLA centres throughout Europe and North America, helping to deliver safe, engaging and transformative educational experiences for thousands of international students.

Preparation: The Real Beginning of a Study Abroad Programme

For many families, a study abroad programme begins when a student departs for their destination. For MLA, however, the journey starts much earlier.

In the weeks leading up to student arrivals, Centre Directors, Activity Managers, teachers, Welfare Teams and support staff come together for training sessions, operational planning and strategic alignment.

This preparation period is one of the most important moments of the year, ensuring that all centres share the same procedures, quality standards and objectives before welcoming students from around the world.

An Operating Model That Sets MLA Apart

One of the key factors that distinguishes MLA within the international education sector is its operating model.

All 18 summer centres are managed directly by MLA through an integrated structure that includes staff recruitment, training, centre management, student welfare and programme delivery.

This approach enables MLA to maintain consistently high standards, improve operational efficiency and deliver a seamless experience across every destination.

Direct management also allows the organisation to respond quickly to the needs of students, families and international partners while keeping quality at the heart of every decision.

The People Behind Every International Experience

As the summer season begins, Massimo Tardi, CEO of MLA, has recognised the vital role played by the people who make every programme possible.

The growth of the organisation and the successful management of 18 centres across six countries are made possible by professionals who dedicate their expertise, commitment and energy to supporting students throughout their journey.

From centre leadership and academic teams to welfare staff, activity leaders and operational support teams, every role contributes to creating a safe, inspiring and rewarding environment where students can thrive.

Looking Ahead to Another Successful Summer

Over the coming weeks, thousands of students from around the world will arrive at MLA centres to embark on an experience shaped by learning, personal growth, cultural discovery and international friendships.

Ready to welcome them are 18 centres, 1,500 staff members and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional international education programmes built on people, quality and operational excellence.

Together, we are ONE TEAM!

Some news stories feel distant from the daily life of a family — and yet they touch it far more closely than you might imagine.

The reports of the past few hours about a possible agreement between the United States and Iran, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, are exactly that kind of story. A positive signal for the global economy — and, as we shall see, for anyone dreaming of a study holiday abroad.

Why the Strait of Hormuz Matters to a Study Holiday

In recent months, the tensions in the region have helped push up the cost of energy. And when energy prices rise, so do the operating costs of a great many sectors — including travel and international education.

MLA, too, has seen significant increases in the costs of organising its programmes abroad, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom. These increases have affected transport, excursions, logistics, accommodation, university campuses, colleges, and many of the services connected to a study holiday.

Faced with this situation, MLA had a choice to make.

The Law Allowed Us to Raise Our Prices. We Chose Not To.

European and Italian legislation on travel packages — in particular Directive (EU) 2015/2302, transposed into the Italian Tourism Code — allows organisers to adjust the price of a package when there are significant changes in the cost of transport, fuel, energy, taxes, or other external factors affecting the trip.

We could have, fully within the law, passed these higher costs on to participants.

We chose not to.

MLA decided to absorb these increases internally, without applying any extraordinary adjustment to the families, Group Leaders, agents, and partners who have chosen to place their trust in us.

“It is a decision that carries a significant financial commitment, but one we believe is consistent with the values that have guided MLA for more than fifty years. The trust of our clients is an asset worth far more than any short-term economic gain.”
— Massimo Tardi, CEO of MLA Move Language Ahead

A Hopeful Look Towards the Middle East

This is why we welcome the signs of easing tension coming from the region. Greater stability could help reduce the pressure on energy and logistics costs, with benefits not only for the Gulf countries — the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran — but for the global economy as a whole.

Our hope is that this phase may open a new season of growth and development for international tourism.

Because when tensions ease, it is not only the economy that benefits. Families benefit. So do students, schools, businesses, and everyone who believes in the value of bringing different cultures together.

And that is exactly what MLA continues to promote, every single day.

Most students who join an MLA summer in the United States come for New York. The energy of Manhattan, the campus life at Ramapo College, the English course, the friendships made in broken English on a college lawn — that is the heart of the experience.

But the United States is bigger than one city. And one of the questions we hear most often from families is a simple one:

If we are already there, what else can we see?

The answer, for many of our students, is a short stay in Washington D.C. or Boston. Two days, one extra city, and a whole new side of America. Here is what makes each of them worth the trip — and how a quick getaway can become the part of the summer a student talks about for years.

Washington D.C.: Where a Country Explains Itself

Washington is compact, walkable, and unusually generous with its history. You do not need a week here. In two days, a student can stand in front of the buildings they have only ever seen on a screen, and understand, for the first time, that these are real places where real decisions are made.

These are the five moments we would not want any student to miss.

1. See the White House. There is something quietly powerful about standing in front of the most famous address in the world. For most students, this is the first photograph they send home.

2. Visit the Capitol Building. The home of American democracy is more impressive in person than on television. Its dome anchors the entire city and makes the abstract idea of “government” suddenly concrete.

3. Step inside the Smithsonian Museums. Some of the finest museums on the planet — and entry is free. Space rockets, dinosaurs, art, natural history: whatever a student is curious about, there is a hall here that speaks to it.

4. Walk to the Washington Monument. The towering obelisk at the centre of the National Mall is the city’s natural meeting point, surrounded by open green space that is perfect for catching your breath between sights.

5. Reach the Lincoln and World War II Memorials. End the tour where some of the most important words in American history were spoken. Standing on those steps is the kind of moment that stays with a young traveller.

What makes the MLA Washington D.C. MiniBreak special is that it is not only Washington. The same short stay also takes in Philadelphia — Independence Mall and the Liberty Bell — and Baltimore, with its Inner Harbor and the historic streets of Fells Point. Three cities, one journey, and the whole founding story of a nation told along the way.

Boston: History, Harbour, and Harvard

If Washington is where America explains its government, Boston is where America began. New England’s capital blends centuries of revolutionary history with the restless, hopeful energy of a great student city. For young people thinking about their own futures, few places feel more inspiring.

Here is how we would spend a short stay in Boston.

1. Walk through Harvard Yard. Setting foot on the campus of one of the most prestigious universities in the world has a way of widening a student’s sense of what is possible. Sometimes a single afternoon plants a very big idea.

2. Follow the Boston Freedom Trail. This walking tour traces the footsteps of the American Revolution, taking in Bunker Hill, the USS Constitution, and the Paul Revere House. History stops being a chapter in a textbook and becomes the ground under your feet.

3. Feel the buzz at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Street performers, food stalls, and shops make this lively square one of the best places to take the pulse of the city.

4. Go whale watching. From Boston’s Central Wharf, a boat carries you out to the Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary, where students may see whales in their natural habitat. It is the kind of experience no classroom can offer.

5. Relax at Boston Common, then explore Newbury Street. Slow down in the oldest public park in the United States, then enjoy some easy shopping around Copley Square and stylish Newbury Street. Every good trip needs a little time to simply enjoy being there.

You Do Not Have to Choose Between America’s Great Cities

This is the part families tend to like most. A student does not have to pick between the cities that shaped America. Both Washington D.C. and Boston are available as MiniBreak add-ons to MLA’s New York summer programme at Ramapo College — a short, fully organised extension built into the existing trip.

So the summer can hold all of it at once: an English course, life on a genuine American campus, the energy of Manhattan, and a couple of days in one of these unforgettable cities.

Because, as we always say at MLA, technology and planning prepare the student — but it is the experience that transforms them. A morning on the National Mall or an afternoon at sea off the coast of Boston is exactly the kind of experience we mean.

Two cities. One extraordinary summer. The only question left is which one a student will choose first.

By the MLA Editorial Team — featuring insights from Massimo Tardi, CEO of MLA — Move Language Ahead. Published May 2026.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future trend. It is the silent infrastructure already running underneath classrooms, online courses, exam preparation, and personalized tutoring around the world. In 2026, asking whether AI will shape the future of education is the wrong question. AI is the present of education.

The right question is different — and far more interesting:

What kind of learning will still need to happen between human beings?

This is the question that Massimo Tardi, founder and CEO of MLA — Move Language Ahead, an Italian international education company with over 50 years of experience, has recently put on the table. As an entrepreneur who has spent five decades watching how students grow when they leave home for the first time, his answer is unequivocal:

“There is one area of education that AI will never fully replace: genuine human experience.” — Massimo Tardi, CEO, MLA

We believe he is right. And we believe the future of junior study travel is being written exactly here — at the intersection between intelligent technology and irreplaceable human experience.

How AI Is Already Changing Education in 2026

The shift is happening faster than most education providers admit. Today, AI-powered tools are:

Generating personalized study plans for Cambridge English exams (B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced) based on each student’s weaknesses

Acting as on-demand tutors available 24/7, in any language, at minimal cost

Adapting reading levels, listening exercises, and grammar drills in real time

Providing instant feedback on writing tasks that once required a teacher’s red pen

Translating, transcribing, and summarizing content with near-human accuracy

For a student preparing for an English certification, AI has compressed what used to be a months-long process into a self-paced, hyper-customized journey. This is genuine progress, and pretending otherwise would be intellectually dishonest.

At MLA, we are not standing on the sidelines of this transformation. We have built our Pre-Departure Course, our MLA Student App, our online live English lessons, and our adaptive learning platforms precisely because we believe technology should make every student arrive abroad better prepared, more confident, and more able to make the most of their experience.

“We strongly believe that technology and Artificial Intelligence can significantly improve students’ educational journey before departure.” — Massimo Tardi, CEO, MLA

But preparation is not the experience itself. And here the conversation must change.

A Junior Study Holiday Is Not an English Course Abroad

This is the single most important distinction in the entire study travel industry — and the one most easily lost in marketing brochures.

A junior study holiday is not “an English course that happens to take place abroad.”

It is a personal growth experience that uses the English language, a foreign city, a host family, a host college, and an international peer group as the tools for transformation.

When a fifteen-year-old leaves Milan, Rome, Naples, or Palermo and lands in London, Dublin, New York, or Malta for the first time, something happens that no algorithm can replicate:

They unpack their own suitcase

They negotiate breakfast with a host family they have never met

They get lost in the Underground and find their way back without calling home

They make a friend in a language they do not yet master fluently

They discover they can survive — and thrive — outside the boundaries of their childhood routine

That moment, multiplied across two, three, or four weeks abroad, is the moment a teenager becomes a slightly different person. More autonomous. More open. More confident in their own ability to face the unknown.

This is what we offer. This is what parents choose. And this is what no AI tutor, no matter how advanced, will ever deliver from inside a screen.

The Skills Only Real Experience Can Build

Let us be specific about what a junior study holiday actually develops in a young person. The list is long, but every item on it shares one feature: it can only be learned by living it, not by being told about it.

Independence — making decisions without parental backup, hour after hour, day after day

Adaptability — discovering that habits, food, weather, and social rules are not universal

Emotional resilience — managing homesickness, frustration, and small daily failures away from home

Social intelligence — reading body language and cultural codes in a foreign environment

Intercultural competence — understanding that “different” does not mean “wrong”

Self-confidence — realizing, often for the first time, that one is more capable than expected

Practical problem-solving — missed buses, lost keys, broken phones, unfamiliar money

No app generates these outcomes. No chatbot can substitute the friction of real-world, real-time, real-stakes experience. These are the skills employers, universities, and life will demand from today’s teenagers in the next twenty years — and they are precisely the skills that AI is least able to teach.

What Parents Are Really Investing In

We have spent fifty years talking to parents in our offices, on the phone, at MLA Roadshows in cities across Italy, and at airport gates on departure day. We can say it with certainty:

Parents do not buy English. Parents buy growth.

“Parents are not simply investing in language learning. They are investing in growth. They want their children to become more confident, more open-minded, and better prepared for the future.” — Massimo Tardi, CEO, MLA

A mother does not put her thirteen-year-old on a plane to Brighton because she has compared CEFR levels on a spreadsheet. She does it because she wants her child to come home a little taller — not in centimeters, but in character.

That emotional return on investment is what the junior study travel industry has been delivering, year after year, generation after generation. It is also why the sector has shown such remarkable resilience even in years when other parts of the global education economy have struggled.

Why Junior Study Travel Keeps Growing

According to recent industry data, educational tourism has grown by over 30% in the post-pandemic years. The reason is not language demand alone — English certifications can now be obtained without ever leaving home. The reason is that families across Italy, Europe, and the world have understood that experience itself has become a scarce, premium good in a digital-first childhood.

In an era when teenagers spend an unprecedented number of hours indoors, online, alone, and mediated by screens, the radical act of sending them on a real journey — with real people, in a real city — is more valuable than ever. The study holiday is becoming, paradoxically, more important the more digital everyday life becomes.

The Future: AI With Experience, Not AI Instead of Experience

The most dangerous mistake an education company could make in 2026 is to frame the choice as AI versus human experience. That framing is both wrong and lazy.

The right framing is:

AI prepares the student. Experience transforms the student.

At MLA, this is the operating principle behind every program we design. AI and digital tools handle what they handle best — preparation, repetition, language drilling, logistical support, communication with families. Then the human experience takes over: the host family dinner, the city walk, the classroom in a real college, the group leader who walks beside a homesick student at 10 p.m., the friendship made in broken English on a beach in Malta.

“Not towards replacing experience with technology. But towards using technology to make experiences even more meaningful.” — Massimo Tardi, CEO, MLA

This is the line we believe will define the next decade of international education.

Because real growth still happens through human experience — and no technology, however brilliant, will ever take that away from a young person who is willing to leave home and discover who they can become.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will AI replace traditional language schools and study abroad programs? No. AI will increasingly handle structured learning tasks like grammar, vocabulary, exam preparation, and personalized tutoring. However, the immersive personal growth that comes from living abroad — independence, intercultural competence, emotional resilience — cannot be replicated by AI. The two will coexist and complement each other.

Is a junior study holiday still worth it in the age of AI? Yes — arguably more than before. As digital tools handle academic preparation, the unique value of a study holiday shifts even more strongly toward what only real-world experience can deliver: personal growth, autonomy, social skills, and intercultural awareness.

How is MLA integrating AI into its programs? MLA invests in pre-departure online courses, digital learning platforms, the MLA Student App, live online English lessons, and adaptive preparation tools. These technologies prepare students before they leave, so that once abroad they can focus on the human experience itself.

What does Massimo Tardi, CEO of MLA, believe about AI in education? Massimo Tardi believes that AI will significantly improve many aspects of education, particularly preparation and personalized tutoring, but that it will never fully replace the human experience of studying abroad. In his view, the future of junior study travel lies in using technology to make real experiences even more meaningful.

What age range is suitable for an MLA junior study holiday? MLA programs are designed for students aged 11–17 (Junior) and 18–25 (Young Adults), with destinations across the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Malta, and beyond.

The MLA Annual Convention returns in 2027 with its most extraordinary edition yet. Venice, the Lagoon, and the timeless charm of masquerade balls will provide the setting for an exclusive event.

Participation in the MLA Venice Convention is free of charge and reserved for agents who achieve a minimum of 12 student weeks in the Summer Junior Programmes during the 2026 season.

Venice: The Perfect Choice for the MLA Convention 2027

Every year, MLA brings together its partners from around the world to celebrate the results achieved, present the programmes for the new season, and strengthen the relationships that make our network unique. For 2027, Venice was the natural choice.

Venice has always been a crossroads of cultures, trade, and travel from across the world. It is a city that needs no introduction, yet still manages to surprise every time. This spirit — international, elegant, and without borders — perfectly reflects MLA’s identity and the growth of our global network.

The MLA Venice Convention 2027 is designed to bring together International Agents, Conference Mangers and Group Leaders: three days of networking, training, awards, and an evening that will remain in the memory of those privileged enough to experience it.

When and Where the MLA Annual Convention 2027 Will Take Place

📅 Dates: 28–30 November 2026
📍 Location: Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, Giudecca Island, Venice

The Hilton Molino Stucky is one of Venice’s most iconic venues. Built in the 19th century as one of Europe’s largest flour mills, it is now a 5-star luxury hotel overlooking the Lagoon. Its exposed brick walls preserve the historic soul of the building, while the interiors offer uncompromising modern comfort.

From the Skyline Rooftop Bar, Lonely Planet describes the view as the most beautiful in Venice — and anyone who has had the chance to enjoy it would find it hard to disagree.

The MLA Venice Convention 2027 Programme

Saturday, 28 November — The Arrival

Arrival is scheduled for the afternoon, with check-in at the Hilton Molino Stucky. The evening begins with a Gala Dinner at the hotel, followed by the most anticipated moment of the first day: the MLA Awards Ceremony, the official ceremony celebrating the top agents and group leaders of the MLA network for their achievements during the 2026 season.

Sunday, 29 November — The Experience

The morning will be dedicated to the presentation of the MLA 2026/2027 Catalogues and an in-depth workshop on the new 2027 centres — a unique opportunity to preview the latest developments for the season and exchange directly with the MLA team.

The afternoon will be free to explore Venice: getting lost among the calli, discovering its bridges, or sitting in a bacaro with an ombra of white wine. The real Venice, experienced without rush.

Sunday evening will be the highlight of the entire Convention: the Masquerade Ball at the Glass Cathedral in Murano. An event unlike any other.

Monday, 30 November — Farewell: See You Soon

The final morning will be reserved for breakfast at the hotel, goodbyes, and memories. Check-out is at 12:00 — with the certainty that something important has happened, and that the work ahead will carry a different feeling.

The Masquerade Ball: A Night at the Glass Cathedral in Murano

If there is one moment already creating extraordinary anticipation across the global MLA network, this is it.

The Glass Cathedral is located on the island of Murano, inside the ancient former Church of Santa Chiara. Its 18th-century walls still hold the secrets of the most legendary Venice: the Venice of Giacomo Casanova, masquerade balls, mystery, and seduction.

Murano crystal chandeliers, period costumes, elaborate masks, music echoing beneath stone arches: the Masquerade Ball is not simply a gala dinner. It is an immersive experience in a Venice suspended in time, designed for those who appreciate beauty in all its forms.

Start looking for your favourite mask.

How to Join the MLA Venice Convention 2027

The MLA Venice Convention 2027 is open to international agents and group leaders. Places are limited, and the response from MLA’s global network has already been extraordinary.

When a family decides to send a child on a study holiday abroad, the questions about language learning and cultural experience come quickly. But there is always another question — sometimes spoken, sometimes not — that sits underneath all the others: what happens if something goes wrong?

It is a reasonable question. Students are away from home, in a foreign country, in an environment they are not familiar with. Minor illnesses, sports injuries, allergic reactions, anxiety episodes — these are normal parts of life for young people, and they do not become less likely simply because someone is on a language programme.

At MLA World, we have built a welfare structure that takes this question seriously. One of its most distinctive elements is what we call Doctors on Campus: qualified, on-site medical professionals present at our centres throughout the season, integrated into our wider welfare and safeguarding system.

This article explains what Doctors on Campus means in practice, why it matters, and what it signals about the way MLA approaches student safety — for agents, schools, and the families who entrust us with their students.

What “Doctors on Campus” Actually Means

The term is straightforward, but the implications are significant.

At MLA centres, medical support is not outsourced to a local clinic or handled through an emergency number. We have qualified medical professionals — doctors or medics, depending on the centre and country — physically present at the campus during the programme. They are part of the centre’s staff structure, not an external service called in when something goes wrong.

This means that when a student falls ill, sustains an injury during a sports activity, or presents with a medical concern at any point during the day or evening, there is a qualified professional on site who can assess the situation immediately. There is no waiting for a GP appointment, no uncertainty about where the nearest walk-in clinic is, no communication gap between welfare staff and external medical services.

The doctor or medic on campus works in direct coordination with the centre’s Welfare Manager, and with MLA’s central welfare team. Every medical interaction is documented. If a situation requires escalation — referral to a local hospital, contact with a student’s family, communication with a sending school or agent — that process is managed systematically, not improvised.

The Context: Why On-Site Medical Presence Matters

To understand why this matters, it helps to consider the context of a residential language programme.

A typical MLA summer centre hosts students from multiple countries, ranging in age from approximately 8 to 17 years old. They live on site, share meals, participate in group activities, attend classes, and go on excursions — all in an environment that is deliberately stimulating and social. This is the design. It is also what creates the conditions in which medical situations arise.

Young people at residential programmes experience a predictable range of health concerns: respiratory infections, digestive issues, minor injuries from sports and activities, heat-related discomfort in summer, headaches and fatigue from adapting to a new routine, and — particularly in the 13–17 age group — anxiety, homesickness, and the physical symptoms that can accompany emotional distress.

None of these situations are emergencies in the clinical sense. But all of them require prompt, competent assessment and appropriate management. In a residential setting with students who are minors, away from their families, in a foreign country, “competent assessment” means something specific. It means a professional who can distinguish between a student who needs rest and a student who needs to go to hospital. It means someone who can make that call at 11pm without waiting for a GP surgery to open the next morning.

This is what on-site medical staff provide. And it is a capability that generic welfare training — however thorough — does not fully replicate.

How Doctors on Campus Integrates with MLA’s Welfare System

The medical dimension of student welfare does not operate in isolation at MLA. It is part of a layered, integrated welfare structure that includes several complementary elements.

The Welfare Manager is the dedicated welfare professional responsible for the overall pastoral and safeguarding care of students at the centre. They are the primary point of contact for student wellbeing concerns and work in close partnership with the on-site medical staff. Where the Welfare Manager identifies a student who may have a medical need, the doctor is the immediate next step. Where the doctor identifies a student who may have a pastoral or safeguarding concern, the Welfare Manager is involved.

The 24/7 Emergency Contact ensures that qualified professional support is never more than a phone call away, regardless of the hour. This is backed by MLA’s central team, who provide operational and decision-making support to centre staff in any situation that exceeds the capacity of the on-site team alone.

Local Hospital and Emergency Service Links are established and maintained for every centre, so that if a student requires a higher level of medical care, the referral pathway is clear and pre-prepared. The on-site doctor is the professional who makes that referral decision, managing communication between the centre and the external facility.

Medical Documentation and Consent Forms are collected from families before the programme begins. This includes information on pre-existing conditions, current medications, allergies, and any specific medical instructions. This information is held by both the Welfare Manager and the on-site medical staff, so that if a student requires assessment, the treating professional has the relevant context immediately available.

Staff Safeguarding Training ensures that all MLA staff — not only welfare and medical professionals — are equipped to identify situations that require escalation. Centre Directors and Welfare Managers are trained to Level 2 or Level 3 safeguarding; general staff to Level 1. This creates an environment where potential concerns surface quickly, rather than being missed at the edges of the programme.

What This Means for Agents and Sending Partners

For agents and schools sending students on MLA programmes, the presence of qualified on-site medical staff has concrete implications for how you can communicate the programme to families.

Many parents — particularly those sending a child abroad for the first time — have concerns about medical support that go beyond what general welfare statements address. “There is a welfare officer on site” is reassuring but abstract. “There is a qualified doctor or medic on site throughout the programme, working as part of the centre team” is specific, verifiable, and materially different.

This is a differentiating factor in a market where many providers offer broadly similar programme structures. It reflects a level of operational investment in student safety that goes beyond the minimum requirements — and that is, for a significant number of families, a genuine deciding factor.

We encourage partners to present the Doctors on Campus element clearly in their communications. Families who ask the question — what happens if my child gets ill? — deserve a real answer. We have made sure that the answer is a good one.

A Reflection of a Broader Commitment

The Doctors on Campus model is not a feature that was added to MLA’s programmes in response to a regulatory requirement or a marketing trend. It is a reflection of how MLA has always understood the responsibility that comes with running residential programmes for minors.

When a student is at one of our centres, they are in our care. That means academic care, yes. It means social and pastoral care. And it means physical health care. These are not separate concerns that can be delegated to different departments or covered by different policies that never quite connect. They are all part of the same responsibility — to the student, to their family, and to the agents and schools who have recommended the programme.

The infrastructure we have built around student welfare — including on-site medical staff, trained welfare professionals, 24/7 emergency support, and systematic documentation — is the operational expression of that responsibility.

Conclusion

Sending a student abroad for a study holiday involves trust. Families trust the sending school or agent. The school or agent trusts the programme provider. And the programme provider — in this case, MLA — must have the systems in place to justify that trust in practice, not just in principle.

Doctors on Campus is one of the most tangible ways in which MLA makes that commitment concrete. It means that wherever one of our centres operates, there is a qualified medical professional on the ground, part of the team, ready to act when a student needs care.

For partners who want to know what happens behind the scenes to make MLA programmes safe, this is part of the answer. For families who ask the question that is always there underneath the others — we are ready with a real response.

If you would like further details about MLA’s welfare and medical support framework, or information specific to a particular centre or destination, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our team.

Organising a study holiday abroad today requires attention, experience and the ability to navigate an international landscape that is constantly evolving. Between entry requirements, regulatory changes, rising costs, possible transport disruptions and the need to guarantee the highest level of protection for students, choosing the right partner is no longer just an organisational decision: it is a strategic one.

In this context, safety in study holidays abroad has become a central priority for families, schools, groups and agencies. Relying on a solid organisation means being able to count on clear procedures, continuous support and a real presence throughout every stage of the experience. This is exactly the approach MLA takes: offering reliable, well-structured programmes abroad, supported by a concrete assistance system before departure, during the stay and through to the return home.

A More Complex International Context Requires Expertise and Reliability

In recent years, the study holiday sector has changed significantly. Today, planning a language stay abroad means taking a wide range of factors into account: destination stability, constant updates on local regulations, operational continuity of centres, quality of services offered and the ability to respond quickly when needed.

For this reason, simply offering a programme is no longer enough. What is needed is an organisational structure capable of monitoring the global context, carefully assessing destinations and ensuring high standards in every aspect of the stay. More and more, the real difference lies in the partner supporting students and families throughout the entire journey.

Student Safety as a Real Priority

When it comes to study holidays abroad, safety cannot be treated as a secondary consideration. It must be the starting point of every decision: from the selection of schools and colleges to the management of accommodation, right through to assistance and welfare services.

MLA places student wellbeing at the centre of its organisational model through an approach based on prevention, quality control and constant on-the-ground presence. This means working with carefully selected, fully operational centres that provide safe, supervised environments suitable for hosting international students.

However, safety is not only about the destination or the host structure. It is also about the reassurance of knowing that, at any time, there is a team ready to step in, listen, support and find fast solutions whenever needed.

Continuous Support Before, During and After Departure

One of the most important factors when choosing a study holiday provider is the quality of assistance. A reliable partner does not simply organise the departure, but follows the entire experience with continuity and care.

With MLA, support is provided at every stage of the journey. Before departure, the organisation offers clear information, operational guidance and support in preparing for travel. During the stay, students and group leaders can rely on an international staff that is present, accessible and ready to provide on-site assistance. After returning home, the value remains that of an experience managed with attention, built on clear standards and professional handling at every step.

This approach helps reduce uncertainty, improve the overall experience and provide a constant point of reference both for those travelling and for those entrusting students to the organisation.

Carefully Selected Centres and High Quality Standards

The quality of a study holiday depends to a great extent on the reliability of the structures and local partners involved. For this reason, it is essential to work with centres that not only offer strong academic programmes, but also guarantee operational continuity, safety and organisational efficiency.

MLA carefully selects its centres and constantly monitors the quality of the programmes it offers. Each solution is assessed not only in terms of educational value, but also for its real reliability from a logistical, managerial and support perspective.

This selection process makes it possible to offer programmes that are fully aligned with expectations and promised standards, avoiding discrepancies between what is presented and what students actually experience on site.

On-the-Ground Support and International Presence

Another key factor in study holidays abroad is the actual presence of staff available on site. In complex situations, or simply in moments when immediate support is required, having a team that can be reached quickly makes a substantial difference.

MLA’s international staff represents a constant point of reference throughout the stay. Their presence on the ground makes it possible to handle any needs promptly, provide timely information and ensure immediate assistance whenever necessary. This contributes not only to the operational safety of the programme, but also to students’ emotional wellbeing, as they know they can rely on real and easily accessible support.

Wellbeing, Welfare and Medical Support

Talking about safety also means talking about wellbeing. An experience abroad should be educational, inspiring and reassuring. This is why, alongside logistical and academic organisation, it is essential to include services dedicated to student welfare.

MLA considers welfare an integral part of the overall quality of the experience. Continuous support, medical assistance and attention to the personal dimension of the stay all help create an environment in which students can live the experience with greater confidence and peace of mind.

This approach is especially important for families and institutions looking for programmes abroad that combine language learning, efficient organisation and genuine care for the individual.

Transparency and Reliability: What Is Chosen Is What Is Delivered

In an increasingly complex market, one of the most valued aspects is transparency. Anyone organising a study holiday wants to know exactly what to expect, which services are included, which standards are guaranteed and what kind of support will be available.

MLA’s reliability is also expressed through this commitment: offering clear, consistent programmes built on a concrete dedication to quality. The alignment between what is proposed and what is actually delivered is a fundamental element in building trust and making every experience safer, easier to manage and more reassuring for everyone involved.

Why Choosing a Reliable Partner for a Study Holiday Abroad Matters

Choosing the right partner for a study holiday abroad means looking beyond the academic programme alone. It means evaluating the organisation’s ability to prevent issues, support students, guarantee high standards and guide every phase of the journey with expertise and responsibility.

In a rapidly changing international context, safety is not an added value: it is an essential condition. And this is precisely where the value of an experienced, present and well-structured provider emerges.

MLA stands out as a reliable partner for those seeking study holidays abroad built on quality, protection, continuous support and genuine attention to student wellbeing. Because living an international experience in a positive way means departing with confidence, being supported with professionalism and knowing that, at every moment, there is an organisation truly there.

There comes a moment, when deciding to leave for a study holiday, when everything seems possible. The destinations are many, expectations are high, and choosing the right one is not as simple as it seems. Because it is not just about picking a city, but about imagining the kind of experience you want to have.

Not all destinations are the same
Every destination has its own personality, and finding the right one also means understanding where you are in your own journey: is it your first experience abroad, or have you already travelled before?

Those leaving for the first time may need a more reassuring environment, where they can find their bearings and feel at home. Those who have already had similar experiences, on the other hand, may be looking for something more intense, something that truly challenges them.

England: the great classic that never disappoints
England remains one of the most natural choices, especially for those who want to improve their English effectively. But even here, the differences are important.

London is a city that sweeps you away: huge, full of stimulation, always on the move. Perfect for those who already have some experience and want to push themselves, it can feel overwhelming at first, also because of its pace and costs. Oxford, by contrast, has a more intimate, elegant and academic atmosphere, ideal for focusing and building relationships without feeling overwhelmed. Dover, finally, quieter and more authentic, is perfect for a gradual immersion and for starting out calmly.

United States: truly living the language
In the United States, everything is amplified: the distances, the energy, the possibilities. New York offers a totalizing experience, where every day can bring new encounters and discoveries. Los Angeles has a more relaxed rhythm, while Miami blends English and Latin influences in a sunny and informal setting.

These cities are fascinating, but they also require a good ability to adapt, making them more suitable for those who have already had other experiences abroad.

Ireland and Scotland: feeling at ease right away
For those who want to leave without feeling too far from home, Ireland and Scotland offer welcoming and stimulating environments. Dublin is lively yet accessible, Galway more intimate and familiar. Edinburgh, with its historic streets and understated charm, invites you to slow down and observe.

Here, making friends, getting used to the language and finding your own rhythm feels easier, making these destinations ideal for first-time travellers.

Spain: languages and Mediterranean colours
Spain combines language study with a vibrant lifestyle. Barcelona stands out for its creative energy, unique architecture and intense cultural life. Valencia, on the other hand, offers a more relaxed atmosphere, with a mild climate, beaches and a peaceful daily rhythm, ideal for focusing on study without giving up enjoyment.

In both cities, it is possible to practise Spanish in real-life contexts, among markets, cafés and cultural activities, living an immersive learning experience full of discovery.

East Asia: an intense and different experience
For those looking for a new and stimulating challenge, East Asia offers total immersion in languages and cultures far removed from the Western world.

Tokyo is a city that leaves its mark: immense, orderly and surprisingly quiet despite the crowds, ideal for testing yourself and discovering something new every day. Osaka, livelier and more spontaneous, allows you to combine study with authentic daily life among markets, street food and real contact with the language. Kyoto, with its temples, silences and slower rhythms, encourages focus and deep cultural immersion. Finally, Seoul, dynamic and modern yet deeply rooted in tradition, surprises with its energy and creativity, making study stimulating and each day full of discoveries.

The right choice is the one that works for you
There is no absolute best destination, only the one that best fits your moment and your personal needs. Some journeys begin gradually, while others throw you straight into intense and stimulating experiences. Some people seek concentration, while others want to combine study, exploration and adventure.

A study holiday truly succeeds when it brings these elements together: learning, discovery and a touch of surprise. Very often, it is precisely the unexpected moments and discoveries that turn a simple trip into a memorable experience.

Managing international study holidays requires structure, precision, and constant coordination. From booking requests and student documentation to flights, visa letters, communication, and financial control, every phase must be handled efficiently.

To simplify this process and support its international partners, MLA has developed the MLA Agent Zone, a dedicated platform for study holiday agents designed to centralize operations and give agents full control over their groups.

The platform is accessible directly at:

Here, agents can log in and manage every stage of their study holiday programs in one integrated digital environment.

A Centralized Platform Built for Efficiency

The MLA Agent Zone was created with one clear objective: to make agents operationally independent while reducing administrative complexity.

After a simple registration and login process, agents gain immediate access to a structured workspace where all essential tools are available in one place.

Instead of relying on scattered emails or external spreadsheets, agents can manage booking requests, group data, documentation, and financial updates within a single system. This centralized approach improves organization, reduces the margin for error, and saves valuable time.

For professionals working with multiple groups throughout the year, this level of structure makes a tangible difference.

Destination Information and Marketing Resources

A key part of an agent’s role is presenting study holiday programs clearly and professionally to schools and families. The MLA Agent Zone supports this through a dedicated destination section.

Within the platform, agents can access:

Detailed information about each center

Included activities and programs

Downloadable sample programs

Official photographic materials for marketing use

Having immediate access to updated materials allows agents to prepare accurate proposals and maintain consistency in their communication.

The platform for study holiday agents therefore supports not only operational management but also commercial activity, helping partners present MLA programs with confidence and credibility.

Flexible Booking Requests with Full Customization

Every group has different needs. Some may require additional excursions, extra entrance tickets, or special services outside the standard package.

Through the MLA Agent Zone, agents can personalize booking requests directly within the system. Extra services can be added during the request phase, ensuring that each program reflects the specific expectations of the group.

Agents can also monitor the status of their booking requests in real time, maintaining complete visibility throughout the process.

This combination of flexibility and structure allows for tailor-made programs without compromising operational clarity.

Managing the Entire Study Holiday After Confirmation

Once a booking request has been confirmed, the MLA Agent Zone becomes the operational hub for the entire program.

Agents can upload student enrollments, manage documentation, and oversee group details within the same digital space. If required, online pre-departure courses can also be activated directly through the platform.

By centralizing all group information, the system simplifies coordination and supports agents in handling multiple departures efficiently.

Working within one integrated platform reduces miscommunication and keeps every element of the study holiday organized.

Operational Oversight: Flights, Visas, and Group Coordination

Logistics are a critical component of any study holiday.

Through the MLA Agent Zone, agents can request official visa letters and upload flight details, ensuring that all operational information is stored securely and remains accessible at all times.

This integrated oversight helps prevent last-minute complications and provides a clear overview of each group’s status.

For international partners, having access to a dedicated platform for study holiday agents that includes operational control tools significantly enhances reliability and professionalism.

Direct and Branded Communication

Communication with students and families must be clear and consistent.

The MLA Agent Zone allows agents to send circular communications directly to students using their own logo. This reinforces brand identity while ensuring structured and professional information delivery.

By integrating communication tools within the platform, MLA helps agents maintain transparency and strengthen long-term relationships with their clients.

Administrative Transparency and Financial Monitoring

In addition to operational tools, the MLA Agent Zone includes a dedicated administrative section.

Agents can:

View issued invoices

Monitor payment status for booking requests

Maintain an updated financial overview

Having real-time access to financial information supports better planning and responsible management.

Administrative transparency is essential in the education travel sector, and the platform ensures that agents always have a complete picture of their activities.

A Structured Way to Work in a Competitive Market

The MLA Agent Zone is more than a login area — it is a complete operational ecosystem designed to enhance the way agents manage study holidays.

By combining booking management, documentation handling, logistics coordination, communication tools, and financial monitoring in one centralized system, the platform provides a practical and strategic advantage.

In a competitive international market, efficiency, clarity, and reliability are decisive factors. A dedicated platform for study holiday agents supports these standards and elevates overall service quality.

Conclusion

The MLA Agent Zone was developed to simplify daily operations while maintaining high professional standards.

Accessible at
👉 https://agentzone.mlaworld.com

the platform offers international agents operational autonomy, centralized management, and financial transparency in one integrated system.

Because organizing study holidays today requires more than coordination — it requires structure, control, and a professional digital environment built specifically for agents.

Start Confident: Less Stress, More Experience

Imagine two students arriving at college.

The first struggles to understand instructions, feels insecure speaking, and needs time to adjust.
The second communicates confidently, participates actively, and integrates immediately.

The difference? Preparation.

The MLA Pre-Departure Course allows students to:

Improve Results During Your MLA Study Holiday

A study holiday is not only about fun.
It is also an educational investment.

Students who arrive with solid foundations are able to:

The MLA Pre-Departure Course ensures students are ready to immerse themselves immediately in academic activities.

In other words, no time is lost “catching up” linguistically.
Students start growing from day one.

This means making the most of the MLA Study Holiday.

Two Pathways to Choose From: General English or Cambridge Preparation

One of the strengths of the MLA Pre-Departure Course is the possibility to personalize the learning path.

1️⃣ General English

Ideal for students who want to:

2️⃣ Cambridge Exams Preparation

Designed for students who wish to:

Prepare for an internationally recognized certification

A Cambridge certification adds real value to a student’s academic journey.

With the MLA Pre-Departure Course, preparation begins months in advance, allowing students to approach the exam with confidence.

The 8-month duration is not random.

Develop real language autonomy

This is not a last-minute intensive course.
It is a structured journey that accompanies students step by step toward departure.

Arriving at college with a stronger level means experiencing the study holiday with a true “pro-level” mindset.

How the MLA Pre-Departure Course Works

The process is simple and well organized:

Enroll in an MLA Study Holiday.

Begin your online journey with live native-speaking teachers.

Depart abroad with solid preparation and confidence.

Everything is designed to make the transition to the international experience smooth and natural.

An Investment That Goes Beyond the Study Holiday

The MLA Pre-Departure Course does not only prepare students for departure.

It prepares them for the future.

A strong level of English:

Builds independence and self-confidence

In an increasingly international world, starting with advanced language skills provides a real competitive advantage.

And that advantage begins before departure.

Why the MLA Pre-Departure Course Is a Strategic Choice

Choosing the MLA Pre-Departure Course means:

✔ Reducing initial stress
✔ Improving college performance
✔ Strengthening communication confidence
✔ Preparing for international certifications
✔ Arriving already one step ahead

It is not just an extra.
It is an experience accelerator.

Conclusion: Start One Step Ahead with MLA

A study holiday is a unique opportunity.
But to fully enjoy it, preparation is key.

The MLA Pre-Departure Course is much more than an English course.
It is a growth journey that allows students to depart with confidence, solid skills, and an international mindset.

Because the goal is not just to leave.
It is to leave prepared.
